Proposal

Prompt: Write a 2-page (single spaced) description of your proposed project. The proposal will be judged based on the creativity of the project, feasibility of the project, focus on science and technology as a theme, and potential impact. See FAQ for more information.

The proposal should have the following structure:

  • 1 page describing the project. What story do you want to tell? What theme(s) will it explore? What format will it have? Be sure to include the number of videos produced and where they will be shared.

  • Half a page describing why this project is exceptional (or why no one except you could make it). What special skills or perspective do you bring? Where did this idea come from, and why are you motivated to make it?

  • Half a page describing the timeline and feasibility of the project. This section should speak to your scientific expertise, expertise as a storyteller and creator generally, and expertise as a YouTube or TikTok creator specifically. If your project involves resources that are not currently in place (for example building a major engineering project, assembling a production team, or launching a YouTube channel), be sure to include these aspects in your plan. This section is particularly important for applicants who do not have a scientific background or do not have an established audience as a video creator. How will you make sure this project is successful?
