A new YouTube series about the videos we actually watch (including those we don’t talk about).

We’re excited to launch our new series: Show Me Your Algorithm — where we ask people, including some of your favorite creators, to do the unthinkable: share their YouTube homepage, subscriptions, and watch history.
In each episode, our guest walks us through what the algorithm is serving them — the good, the bad, the weird, the deeply specific — and what it reveals about their interests, identity, and internet rabbit holes.

In Episode 1, we sit down with Xyla Foxlin, an engineer and YouTube creator who talks about maker content, finding the person who reported her to the FAA, and whether she watches her friend’s videos.

In Episode 2, we talk with Shana Merlin, an improv comedian, whose feed serves up everything from the attention economy, an honest take on Dropout TV, and an answer to the age-old question: How did the Grinch Steal Christmas?

The series is part digital confessional, part tech investigation, and part media diary. Because let’s face it:
Society acts like we all watch the same things—but we don’t.
Society treats YouTube like guilty pleasure—when in fact, it’s where some of the most personal, creative, and impactful media is being made today.

At IMI, we believe YouTube isn’t just a platform. It’s a window into how people learn, laugh, build, obsess, and connect. It’s time we treated it that way.
And the algorithm? We’re still figuring out what it really sees — and what it says about us.
Show Me Your Algorithm is a space to break the silence on what we’re actually watching, and why it matters. It’s also a great way to steal your favorite creator’s recommendations.
