The Director of Creator Relations owns the creator experience at IMI, making sure that every touchpoint is seamless, warm, and well-run. This role is IMI's presence in the creator world year-round: attending major events, building relationships, and identifying the next generation of creators who belong in the IMI community.

Year-round you will:

• Scout and cultivate relationships with emerging creators with a focus on growing IMI's creator community

• Represent IMI at major creator and film events (including SXSW, Open Sauce, Tribeca, Sundance, and others) hosting dinners and building relationships on behalf of IMI

• Develop and manage IMI's Discord community

• Support creators through the awards process and manage relationships with creators involved in IMI-supported projects, including the Sloan Science Prizes for YouTube

At IMI Fest you will:

• Own the full invitation and communication process for the festival

• Recruit and manage participants and mentors for Camp IMI, a workshop day for emerging creators

• Coordinate creator-facing communications and logistics for Creators Studio and screenings

• Manage creator travel scholarships, badges, merch, and welcome gifts

• Ensure every creator knows where they need to be and feels genuinely welcome when they arrive

This role is designed to grow. We're looking for someone who will build the foundation now and grow into deeper relationship ownership as IMI scales.

What We're Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in creator relations, talent management, artist relations, or community management

• Experience organizing and hosting events, dinners, or gatherings — you know how to create a room people want to be in

• Genuinely warm, curious, and responsive — you remember what people tell you, follow up without being asked, and never need to be chased down

• A genuine fan of independent online media who knows the creator landscape and respects what creators do

• Comfortable working directly with accomplished, opinionated people and earning their trust over time

• Energized by being in the world and building relationships outside of an office

• A self-starter who wants to grow with the role

Compensation & Details

• Salary: $75,000+ commensurate with experience

• Based in Austin, TX preferred. Relocation assistance available. Remote considered for the right candidate.
